Runaway Roaches?

I’ve decided to start transitioning Coda to Dubia Roaches. She really loves them but they ceep finding places to hide so she can’t find an eat them, one even was playing dead this morning when I went to give her food until I touched it with a tweezer. Does this happen to anyone else? How do you stop it?

You will always have runaways if you are free feeding. I use a feeder cup for all bugs. The only free feeders I use are black soldier flies.

Only adult green banana roachs dont hide. The rest will hide other things. The only way i know how to "free feed" is to have nothing on the bottom of the tank, aka every plant pot is at least a foot off the floor, and every stick is on a peg.
