Roughage?

My Ambilobe has a wierd habit I thought I might ask about. Since he was a few months old he likes to strip the bark from the branches in his enclosure. He uses his lower jaw to grind off pieces and chews them up. Im not worried because he is VERY regular LOL and he has been doing it for so long. I was just curious if this was normal behavior or not.

I had a female that would do that. I changed most of the branches to be ones without bark (arbutus), though like you I wasnt overly concerned.
Have read several posts about chameleons reported to eat dirt/sand/bark. I suspect its not overly abnormal. May point to a nutritional need, may mean nothing at all.
