rope

Is polypropylene rope safe to use as vines? It is like nylon except it seems firmer than it. Its used for like boats and stuff.

Does it have nylon in it?
I know the rope you are talking about, I think it would be fine, since it is "boat" rope it should weather the moisture. My only concern is slip issues, a rope burn can be nasty if a slip occurred. Would it be firm enough to hold shape? And not sway when climbing on it?

Ill test it out. Ill try and put it more horizontal than vertical to reduce the chance of slipping. Ill have hibiscus, schefflera, and pothos in the cage so that should be good enough for the vertical along with some biovine.

What are you abreviating by "incl" and I will post pics when I get it situated. My current 18x18x36 is too dense with plants and vines to even put in the rope. So after I finish making a new cage I will post pics :D

Oh duh lol. Shoulda figured that out. But yes there will be branches. I will have in the new bigger cage a hanging pothos, 2 1/2 ft tall schefflera arboricola, 3 1/2 ft hibiscus, 12+ foot worth of bio vine, the rope, and some branches from outside. She also uses the hibiscus that's in her cage now to bask on, its funny because the branch droops over a lot while she's on it lol

Yes it is quite the jungle. I also have a laying bin filled with sand in there. And yes pics are very fun to see. I will try and post some of her current enclosure tomorrow :)

Only once before her. First female I've had though. Btw she's a 8 month old veiled. She's also receptive I'm assuming by the turquoise splotches all over her so not to excited for the first infertile clutch to come:eek:

I like the boys more because of their color/ rostral process thay can get in other species. My biggest fear is her becoming eggbound

I use poly rope with my parrots so I am sure it is safe but the main thing with Chameleons is you have to be careful that their tongue doesn't get stuck on anything where they can bite it off easily.

update on the rope, the nails do not snag at all, no slippage whatsoever even when the rope is wet, I have a long peice spanning from the bottom front left corner to the back top right corner. At frist she attacked the rope but now accepts it as non threatening and uses it quiete often
