alright I finally recieved my little guy. His name is Rodney and is a Ambilobe from kammerflage. Sire is Tsara-Mandoko(nice paint) http://chameleonsonly.com/Pictures/Tsara-mandoko - 13.JPG.

He is already drinking and was able to snap one pic of him cause I didnt want to bother him too much today.

So here is a pic of him drinking
a pic of his setup
-2-live ficus plants(soil is covered up)
-100w powersun (my buddy has used these for over a year with no issues, so if I happen to see any issues I will change it out)
-mist king automister
-dripper cup
-2-temp gauges, one for basking spot and one in lower cage area
-calibratable humidity gauge

I will snap some more pics when he is all settled in and enjoying his new palace.

edit: advice is always appreciated...:)
thanks
sp

hello everyone....

I just got home from my girlfriends and Rodney is sleeping upside down on the top of the cage....how can someone sleep upside down...lol

I would take a pic but he looks so relaxed and his tail is all curled up against the top screen....so I dont want to disturb him since this is his first night in his new home...

anyone ever see this?

I've seen it once or twice.
Once he gets older, if this becomes a habit, you need to make sure the screen won't damage the nails.

edit: Not quite sure if this SHOULD become a habit. *shrugs* But keep an eye on it just in case. If he's crawling upside down under the light, might be too cold.

Looks like you might be ready for a fire...if the fire extinguisher doesn't do the job...tip those mist buckets! (one advantage to being a diligent cham keeper, mist reservior can save lives!)

lol fire fire fire...:)

I use one zip drip nozzle on my mist king and run it 5 times a day misting for 1 minute and 45 seconds a time.

is it ok that the whole tree gets misted or should I leave a dry spot for him to go to?

thanks

Sometimes it's hard to get the nozzle to only get part of the cage wet and leave some part dry. It would be nice for the chame to have somewhere to go to stay dry should it want to.

I have a similar misting schedule but I've heard many members say that mist cycles need to be at least 5-10 minutes long to induce the drinking response in chameleons. I just fill a dripper and let Ollie drink whenever he wants it.

yeah same here I fill a dripper cup and let it drip all day and also the 5 misting cycles so he should have plenty of chances to drink...thank you..:)
