And no chameleons do not prefer dubias. They just tend to be a bit better than most feeders. You would be completely find with crickets, silk worms, butterworms, hornedworms, locusts, etc.

My cham prefers dubias...

No, a cham does not need roaches, but they are a fantastic choice, and could probably replace crickets altogether (although I would not recommend it). But respect Mom--she makes the rules. There is no reason that you couldn't explain why they are great for the chameleon, but in the end, she makes the decision.

Good luck with getting them. They are my cham's favorite food.

Thanks for all the help. Next time I bring up the subject they will be beetles. Lol
