Any tips on getting my panther to eat dubias? Since they don't move much in the feeding bowl my chameleon doesn't seem to be interested in eating them. I hope I don't have a panther that doesn't like them. Since I got 100 mixed a few days ago and already love them. The males are a little creepy but I love the females! Even my fiancé that hates bugs stuck her hand in the cage and pulled one out.

Any tips on getting him to eat them?

fliping them on their backs so the legs go all crazy although sometimes they do manage to flip back over. other best thing is making DIY cup feeder with screen and hope they climb it and that that stimulates your cham to eat them

I will try flipping one over and see how he likes that. As far as a screen goes do you just put one in a deep deli cup? He's been obsessed with black soldier fly larva and I'm worried they aren't good as a main food source.

they can be hard to digest for some chams but as far as i know they are nutritional maybe not a staple though. dont think ive uploaded my feeder cup ever but ill find the post i got the idea from and put it here

post number 4 was the idea i liked. i used a deli cup for my guy when he was a couple months old and now bugs escape it fairly easy might also be because screen is close to the edge his prey got bigger, might make a new one

I'm looking to replace crickets with dubias. I had no idea they were hard to digest. do you think I should only put roaches in his cup until he eats? Or will he starve himself in protest?

When I bought them I thought he would go nuts for them but so far no.

you can try that, i think a mix of both may be a better route. if he only picks out crickets when they are mixed maybe go just roaches til he starves a little lol. last opinion is maybe offer some pretty small ones so they are not as intimidating

my panther didn't like 5 or 6 different versions of a sunny-D style feeding cup that I made. Then I tried a chinese take out container. Its the type that is black and about 5"x9", and about 1.5" tall. Its worked great for my discoids. Wouldn't work at all for crickets. Its just to freagin low. The lower horizontal left over pan is high enough that the thumbnail sized discoids can't crawl out.

Until you told me I had no idea they couldn't flip themselves off their backs. That seems like a major design flaw I guess it works to our advantage though!!

they can flip back over just a struggle for them, they move theyre feet like crazy like that and guess catches chams attention
