RIP McGinty

Blue boy Professor McGinty (male Ambanja panther) died on Tuesday, at 22-23 months old. He had had a variety of health issues, and had gone back and forth in his willingness to take live prey (when he wouldn't, he was relatively willing to accept a liquid diet). Gross necropsy revealed a greatly enlarged liver and was suggestive of liver cancer, and the vet's doing the histology to see whether that provides any more insight.
He was never terribly big (a little over 100 g), but had put on some quite nice colors over this past year. Pictures show him at 4, 17 and 22 months.
He will be missed.

Heather, McGinty was such a handsome boy with his beautiful blues. I am so sorry that you lost him. I know you have been through allot and also done allot for him. It seems we get even more attached with the special ones that need us the most. I know he will be missed.
