Riker the oustalets

...I got another chameleon. This boy appeared in the reptile shop a couple of months ago & I've been watching him grow in their care. Everyone told me he would probably be WC, & no-one at the shop could tell me where he came from. Eventually I spoke to the manager & confirmed he's CB from Germany...& that sealed the deal.

So here's chameleon no.8, Riker. I love him, I've had him 2 days. Today he ate 10 xtra lrg locusts, 10 crickets & 5 lobster roaches. I set up a dripper & he drank for ages, then he let me get him out & my mum held him (the first cham she's held). I worked throughout the festive period to pay for this boy & he's worth every penny!

errr, excuse my roots... in typical cham fashion, he wanted to be as high up as possible, but there was no puffing or hissing

I know they're not known for their colours but I love the red spots he gets when he's a little upset

beauty of a cham!
do they call it a casque like on veileds?

thanks :D yea, I assume it's called a casque but it's not as pronounced. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. They're a nice beginner species, like veileds, but not easy to come by (in the UK at least). I was warned he'd be shy but he's really not. He's like a veiled with the gentle temperment of a panther.

Riker is so coool!! I love the last pciture. It looks like he is grabbing onto the vine and holding onto the screen mesh and about to put his other arm onto the vine to swing or something haha

:D thanks. He seems to be setting in well, he has become a little shy but not aggressive at all. His eating has slowed down now, I'm thinking of feeding him every other day to keep his appetite strong. His favourite food is lobster roaches. Still can't believe he's only a third of his adult size!

It's very cold here at the moment & the poor little guy has been feeling it- I've had to put in a 100w bulb & an additional spot light just to keep it warm enough for him. The gonna have to keep the heating on for him too
