Right eye sinks in occasionally

Hello,

Firstly, thank you to everyone that contributes to this site - it has been incredibly helpful to me and is a wealth of information. My issue: picked up a male Ambilobe at the San Mateo reptile show about a month ago. He is about 10 months hold. Everything appears fine save that his right eye will sink in a few times per day, mainly after we mist the cage. For most of the day his right eye is is "puffed" out the same as his left eye. When it sinks in, he will close it and move it around for quite a while, sucking it in and blinking frequently. He eats fine and from what I can tell his turds are fine. It is only the right eye that does this. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help.

Chameleon Info:

Your Chameleon: Panther Chameleon, male. Picked him up 1 month ago, was told he was 9-10 months old at time of purchase.
Handling: Once per week - I've been trying to avoid handling him until he gets situated and mainly just bring him out to bask in the sun by the window on Sundays.
Feeding: Crickets and Hornworms, alternating.
Supplements: Food is dusted with Herptivite and Rep Cal with Vitamin D
Watering: Spray 3-4 times per day plus one 20 minute drip
Fecal Description: Mostly large and black; sometimes he puts out white stuff before the big black ones comes along
History: Only had him for a month - he has eaten well since we got him
Cage Info: Size below - has a live ficus and 3 of those fake vines laid out at alternating hights.

Cage Type: Screen cage, 18" x18" x 36" with a ficus that fills out the cage pretty well
Lighting:Reptiglo 5.0 18" plus red 75 watt heat lamp - we usually run it at 1/3 power (it has a dimmer)
Temperature: I don't have a thermometer in the cage, but the heat lamp is on for 12 hours/day and the room heater is set at 65 degrees
Humidity: Dont' have a meter, but with the mistings and live plant I assume it is OK - we live in Oakland, CA
Plants: Ficus
Placement: His cage is on a 30" tall aquarium stand in our living room
Location: Oakland, CA - we live in the hills

If it only happens when you mist him, my guess is it's not a big deal...while they need the mist, they sort of hate the mist. I think I've read that the "eye squench" is part of their normal cleaning of the eye...

I hope someone who does panthers/veiled will chime in to confirm or toss that.
