Hi, I am new to the forum and in a couple of days I want to pick up a couple rieppeleon brevicaudatus, this is my first chameleon (yes I know this is not really the best chameleon to start with), I have experience with watersnakes, geckos and lizards and I also read a lot of caresheets and I think it will do.
I still have 2 questions, how thick does the soil have to be? currently there is around 6cm of soil (I guess thats a bit more then 2 inch?), I understand from some caresheets that it needs to be thick because the female will dig a hole to leg eggs.
Also how do I know when the couple is ready to breed? the male I will pick up is very colored which indicates from my understanding that he is ready to breed but ofcourse the female is just brownish so it is hard to say, when she is not ready she will make shaky movement? (atleast I read that).
Thanks!
