Retained Scales near the eye.

I come home for lunch and everything is fine. I get home for the day and i see that my chameleon has what appears to be some scales around his eye that didn't fully come off in his last shed, which was just a day or two ago. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it and can still see but they're just hanging off. The eye itself looks normal (size, color, pupil size, and fullness), just that little area of skin scales hanging off the touret. Should i worry, or give him some time to work it off himself?

I tried getting pictures but he was still pissed at me for taking him out to look at it so getting a clear picture right now is out of the question. I'll try for one later if it's still there.

Ambient Temp 76
Basking temp 89
Humidity ~40 with spikes during mistings
He's eating fine 6 small-medium silkies and 8 medium crickets today.

I have had the same problem just loose skin hangin by his mouth or eyes super sensitive areas...soo what i did was very carefully took tweezers and picked the loose stuff off. I have also showered him and the skin easily flaked off... good luck! :p

I just got a really close up look at it and i'm positive that it's shed skin that didnt quite shed all the way as opposed to swollen scales or a problem with his actual eye. I could wet him down real good, but isnt there a risk of bacterial/fungal infection if the skin doesn't come off and putting all that water on it? He's pretty worked up right now so i hate to stress him out anymore with tweezers.

When this happened to me i waited a week to see if the vines and leaves and branches in this enviro would take care of his "hang nail" :p but it never happened...so i showered him for 20 minuites with some nice warm water and right after the shower the loose skin was worked some what free so i just had to muster up the guts to operate with tweezers :( I might come down to you gotta do what you gotta do

good luck!
