Retained clutch

My female lay jan 25(ish) i know the exact day but im not by my calendar atm. anyways shes still yellow with blue spots. does that mean shes going to lay again? she doesnt look eggy. i cut back on her food a good bit beacuse i wanted to breed her end of march but if she lays again i dont want to breed her. is there any way to prevent a possible retained clutch from happening?

Well the good news would be if she lays again she may have retained another sperm plug and you'll have a second fertile clutch.

My bad! I thought you had. I would just let her do her thing. You'll know soon enough. Worse case is you just wait another month or two to see if she goes receptive.

shes concerned about the fact that clair laid 46 eggs last time, and that she will lay again this month, and then gets bred end of march early april.. that it will be too much on her to handle physically.
