reptiworms

Hello all.

About two hours ago my 4-1/2 month old panther chameleon ate 12 reptiworms in less than 5 minutes!

He now waits at his basking branch looking down at his feeder bowl wanting more.

He has never eaten such quantity so quickly and vigorously in such short time. He eats his dubias quite a bit slower and his crickets even slower yet.

Are the reptiworms like cham crack, loaded with fat but not much nutrients?
I'd hate for him to go on a hunger strike after this.

Should I give him more?

Regards!

I read that reptiworms are nutritious and waxworms are high in fat, so waxworms should be fed only as treats.

Reptiworms are also known as phoenix worms they are naturally high in calcium and for some reason I can't remember right now I think they help fight MBD and Coccidia... though I am not certain on this. They have very little fat and it takes a lot of them to fill up a lizard. He probably just likes the fact that they are worms XD for some reason chams are addicted to worms usually.

Thanks guys.

I went ahead and gave him nine more at around 4:30 and he housed them in five minutes too!
I guess he likes phoenix worms:).
Dubias and crickets are his primary feeders but Ill use these phoenix worms more now and crickets less..

Phoenix worms are some of the best feeders out there in regards to calcium content. I feed all my chams these about once a week. I'd feed them more if they were cheaper

They do fight coccidia look up 'the worm lady' and all the nutritional facts are on her site
