Reptisun 5.0 Question...

I have just replaced my Zilla Tropical 25 T8 fluorescent UVB light with a Reptisun 5.0 for my Veiled Cham and ever since I've done this (yesterday) her color has been off. I have read that the zilla lights can be deadly, however she seems to be having a tough time adjusting to the lighting change. She was always beautiful color with the zilla. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Was she only that beautiful color when in her cage under the light? It could have been the light itself making her look that way. There is no danger with the Zilla lights, well atleast not anymore. That was many, many years ago and it was the compact lights. Unforutnately, zilla is carrying a stigma around with them about these lights even though they are safe now.

Most of my products are Zilla. I use Zilla lamps all the time and have never had a problem. They are not deadly. I would switch back to your Zilla and return new one if possible. Zilla heating pad are what I use for my heat-requiring business colonies.

Perhaps with all the new UVB she's just darker trying to soak it up? Especially if the other bulb was starting to get old she may have been a little "starved" for UVB and is now just catching up.

A photo would help though if you really think the color is unusual or very uncharacteristic for her.
