Anyone have feedback on this company?

I placed an order with them last Thursday and they charged my bank account right away. Haven't heard back from them in reference to my order and when it will ship. Sent them an email on Monday with no reply back. After 3 attempts at calling them today someone finally answered and just took a message, stating I will get a call back. Well I didn't . . .

Is this a large company or someone with a webpage?

I only went with them because their price on gauges was less than lllreptile who I usually go with. (Teach me to try someone new!)

I probably will contact my bank tomorrow to reverse charges and order from lllreptile. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

I have used them in the past but now get most stuff with LLL. Also, they will usually give you a better deal if you just ask them to beat a different sites price. Heck, call me now if you like Jim... you seem to be up... 702-565-4328... :p

I ordered with reptile depot and I was worried about the same thing (no real confirmation) but they sent me a tracking number when my cage got shipped and it was there within one week. They seem to be short-handed, but they'll get it to you. It seems like a lot of reptile suppliers have odd shipping schedules. I just ordered from lllreptile too, though. Much better with the confirmations.

From my experience and from listening to others they are sometimes slow on shipping. However, they have been around a long time and I doubt you have anything to worry about.

Reptile Depot has an actual store in southern California. To tell you the truth, when I have been in there (purchased my cham there) and been back on occasion, most of the staff appear to be rather youthful, and more interested in doing their own thing, rather than help customer.

Given that, I am a 50ish year old woman, maybe if I were 30 years younger, or something......???!!!

I bought my veiled there, direct from the store. He was young, and healthy. No problems at that time, and none since then.

update

In all fairness, since I started this post I should keep you updated. I finally was able to speak with a person named Steve who I think handles the shipping. After finding out who I was he put me on hold and in about 1 minute came back on the phone. Stated he found my order in the back and it will go out either today or tomorrow. Because I did not want to jeopardize anything having to do with getting this order out, I just said thanks and did not question it.
*I actually gave them more business by ordering another bulb.

Anyway I will wait and see . . .

But, when I called earlier today (before Steve was in) the person told me that there was a problem with the cages. I ordered 2 and he stated 1 was black and 1 was aluminum color. I asked Steve about this and he stated that they both should be either black or aluminum depending on what they had in, but highly unlikely to be one of each.
Geezzzzzzzzzz

I have ordered from here twice.
My experience with products:
1.) i ordered a complete setup for chams from here. It was really nice and was a really good deal in my opinion. Everything came in about a week after i ordered.
2.) I ordered a linear bulb, murcury vapor bulb, auto mister, etc... from there and everything came in fine except for the linear bulb (shattered in a million peices), but i blame fedex for that one.

Animals:
I bought a flapneck chameleon from them at a reptile show in Tinley Park, IL (NRBC), the thing got sick and died within three days of having it in my possession. It was WC and very young. I know i had all of my conditions right so I wasn't too happy about that. It was my fault for not inspecting the animal thoroughly. I asked if i could ship the animal back to them for a trade in and they said yah as long as i paid for the shipping, but i decided it wasn't worth it to overnight the cham to them and wind up paying twice what i paid for the chameleon in the first place.

All in all, they are good for products, i don't know how i feel about ordering animals off of them however. if you can go through LLLreptile and they will match reptile depots prices, i would do that. They seem to have an all around better reputation from what i hear.
