So are the chameleons using their prey as a digestions source? It was explained to me that all food prey is almost like a gel cap pill. Do PCs (Panther Chams) eat salad like bearded dragons?

This is why gut-loading your feeder items is so important. What you feed or don't feed your bugs, is what you are giving to your reptile. Some chams will occasionally eat small amounts of fruits and vegetables. They need more nutrition from these items than the occasional bites, so by eating prey items that have been fed the proper nutrients your reptile gets them too.
