Which do you think is better guys?

I bought a reptiglow because it was like 10 bucks cheaper at petsmart but im not sure if i should go back and get the reptisun...

also 10.0 or 5.0?

Did you get a compact or tube?
I found the reptiglo put out about half the UVB as a reptisun the reptiglo 10.0 put out good but the 5.0 was only in the 20 range at 12" through screen

Sorry what I meant if you are going to use a reptiglo go for the 10.0 because it equals to a reptisun 5.0

either is fine. I've used both 5 and 8 and 10 ReptiGlo
If you have a heavy screen between the bulb and the chameleon, the 10 may be better.
Replace ReptiGlo more frequently than you would the Reptisun (so in the end, its not a lot cheaper)

I would go with a 10.0 T8 tube bulb whatever brand. Many including myself are now switching to high output T5 bulbs and the 6% gives out way more than a 10.0 could give and many use them. I personally use a 12% T5 and they give off colossal amounts of uv so a 10.0 reptisun would do no harm!:D

I have repti-glo 5.0 compacts for two of my female chams and a repti-glo 10.0 compact for my male... and I have a regular fluorescent long light strip on each cage as well, are these good enough for adult panthers?

Besides a good 5% (or thereabouts) UVB, they need a basking bulb. A 50 or 60W incandecent is what I use.
Most reptile "basking" bulbs are way too hot!!!!

Your cham will be happy with about 80 to 85F when basking.
If it's too cold, he will try to get as close as possible. If it's too hot, he
will hang his mouth open a lot.

Just have to test, trial and error and adjust to find their "sweet spot".

For UVB, I use Repti sun 5% 18'' tubes ;)

okay, so the 5.0 compact bulbs are good enough? its always around 80 to 85 degrees in their basking spot... and inside my three 18" fixtures are the stock "marineland" bulbs that came with the fixtures from petsmart.. are those alright to use? I originally bought the fixtures for an aquarium but sold it. Will the 18" bulbs even fit inside of the 18.5" fixtures?
