I know a couple of people mentioned the linear version of the lamp. I didn't hear any conformation from Tryme. There is a HUGE difference between the linear and compact lamps. A 10.0 compact will kill your chameleon quickly if not used properly (I know, I found out the hard way). I have both 5.0 and 10.0 tube lamp. I am using the 5.0 now because I haven't had a chance to meter the lamps and compare how they function in my cages.

Good to hear things are working out.
As long as you follow the simple instructions on how close the lamp should be to your chameleon's basking spot, the lamp will work great. I had my veiled in a 30x30x48 flexarium. I had the lamp about an inch above the plastic tubes. I didn't have any issues with my chameleon. He actually seemed happier in that cage than his new one. I think he is still getting over the sticker shock.. he'll feel at home soon.
The Panther I lost died from anorexia caused by photo-kerato-conjunctivitis I didn't come across this site in time to pull Sid out of his downward spiral. I was using a reptisun 10.0 compact.

I don't mean to be short, but if you follow the links you will find a world of helpful information on the topic of UV lights for reptiles. It is a VERY important element in reptile husbandry.
The main issue with the compact lamps from zoomed and other companies are the amount of UV emitted from the lamp and the type of UV radiation. There is also a range of UV that is emitted from the zoomed lamp that isn't found in natural sunlight. The site does not know the effects of this radiation.
