Repotting? even with rocks covering dirt?

Hey all. a couple of days ago i found me a small pothos at an Osh near by.
Of course, its probably potted in soil with fertilizer but i was wondering, if i
wash / rinse off the plant and just cover the soil with rocks is repotting the plant in organic soil necessary?

I wouldn't risk it. If you don't repot it, the dirt/fertilizer could come out the bottom when you water (or overwater, as I do) or you might find there are little gaps between the rocks where you just can't cover because the stems are too close together. Plus, it's not that hard, and cutting any overgrown roots and putting it in a bigger pot can help the plant to grow in faster.

I repotted a pothos a few weeks ago and it's growing in really well.

Pothos grow very quickly. You could simply take a bunch of cuttings from the one you bought, root those in soil you feel is safe, and then you've no worries.

but yes you could just Wash the leaves very very well, underneath and on top of each leaf, each piece of vine, and then cover the soil very well. A layer of sand then a layer of big rocks. The risk is small.

hense why you cover the sand up with rocks. this is what i do sandra, i came to the conclusion that repotting the plants is a big waste of time, and in some conditions, plants dont do as well with organic soils. i just buy them as is, rinse the plants off and give them a nice shower for about 5 minutes, and then just cover the already-soil with substrate, and then a bunch of spare fake leaves to cover the substrate and kind of hide the pot. ive noticed that my chams arent dirt eaters anymore, my kiwi turned to moss, so i dont use that anymore. but yes.... to come to an end, a thourough wash of the leaves is all that is realy necessary.
