So I'm getting wood flooring put in today and I have a problem my chameleon cage can't fit anywhere in my upstairs part of my house and since it's heavy I'll have problems. Could I put Zilla in a box or something for a few hrs? Or would that be stressful? If not do you think that polyeryhane would hurt him even if it's well ventilated with a fan and window? It's quick dry. I can hold Zilla but usually he threatens to jump if I walk.

can you get one of his plants out of his cage, and put him on said plant upstairs?

Or what i sometimes do is put Kink or Glacier on the shower curtain in my bathroom and shut the door.. [light on of course] they hang there while i do whatever it is i have to do.

I know not of the off gassing, odors and related threats from the polyurethane but I would remove him from the house just to be on the safe side. If you put Zilla in a small, dark Rubbermaid container he will sleep for the day with no ill effects and he will be perfectly fine in a clear one too. Just make sure the lid is on tight so he can’t get out or that it is tall enough that he can’t climb out.

He will be fine in a box for a few hours they just think its night an sleep, some of mine have made a 13 hour car journey in a box from Germany to England without any problems

Take Kevs advice, He'll be fine :)

Or

You always have the option to freerange him for a few hours. Just set up a plant somewhere in the house and be sure to watch him at all times.

We've had construction and bug spraying going on at our new home a lot over the past month, I take mine, cage and all and put him outside for a few hours until everything clears. Not sure what the weather in PA is like now... my parents aren't too far from Philly, it was 20 last night, but supposed to go up to in the mid 70's during the day.

It's cold here now about 50 but really windy. I was able to move his whole cage. He panicked a lot but he is fine now. Thanks guys. I tried the dark container but he wouldn't go into it. He acts scared when we walk by but he will have to deal with it for another hr or so.

I have transported my chams a few times, I take their entire cage usually and put a blanket over it and it always goes smoothly. A dark container with a paper towell and proper ventilation always works. Remember people ship chams all the time with no problem.
