Repashy Calcium+ vs Other supplements

I know that there are multiple threads about this, but I want clarification here. I'm currently using the calcium+ and there is another thread that concerns me about using this exclusively.

What I want to know: If I drop the calcium+ - which calcium, calcium d3 and multi vit should I go with? Brand(s)?

This is for a 3 month old panther (ambilobe, ambanja and nosy be hybrid) and my verrucosus.

The panther gets more natural uvb currently than my verru... Please and thank you!

I use repcal calcium w/ D3, Repcal multivitamin, and Sticky tongue farms calcium w/o D3. I was tempted to got with the all in one. But I'm going to stick with what I have. Makes my schedule easier.

I have been useing rapasy calcium+ for better than a year now. With no issues. (12 adults plus little ones)However my feeders eat better than I do. Its about balance in there diet not supliments alone

I have been using repashy and I believe that's what caused my boy to get edema. The vet said it was over supplementing him. And after I stopped using it for about two Weeks, it went away

So the Repcal is the way to go?

rep-cal is way strong. I would continue the use of Repashy but cut it down to 4-5 days/feedings a week.
I only use the calcium plus with my veileds and panthers tho.
I need more flexablity for the montanes.

Just curious how using 3 different supps, is easier than 1 ????

I have tried repcal and calcium +. You have to be careful with all of them. Repcal is very strong and obviously will OD a cham if too much is used. Calcium + works well, just be sure not to overdo that either. I think calcium + takes a lot of the guess work out of the supplementation aspect and that is helpful for new keepers. However, I have since continued to use repcal, herptivite, and regular calcium. I also give a monthly dose of Rx grade calcium gluconate. As Curt mentioned, focus more on a diverse, healthy, diet and you should not need to supplement as much. IMO, a healthier chameleon is one that gets the essentials from it's food source and not supplements alone.

There is no one single best choice. You need to think about the particular situation. type of chameleon, age, types of prey, gutload, UVB source, etc.

I am not aware of any brand of supplements that is "bad" - used in the correct way for your particular situation, most any brand or combination of brands can work.

for vitamin free calcium, I like the rep-cal calicum and/or the sticky tongue farms miner-al -O . Calcium is what I use the most (what most people need to use the most)

Everything else (I've used herptivite, rep-cal with D3, t-rex, repashy... ) if used FAR less - and I use according to actual need and with the potency of the particular brand in mind

Maxttu - you already have Repashy Calcium Plus, right? So perhaps just carry on using that once or twice a week (accordingly to need, which is based on what prey you use and how you feed that prey) and use a vitamin free and phosphorous free calcium (like mineral-o) as needed the rest of the week.
