Thats the prob Al is having..they get too stuck to the vine and then he gives up after a couple tries....

I've had that happen, how I hand feed them to my vieled, I always felt bad when they wouldn't let go. They can't grip as well on a finger and fly right off!

And found this tidbit of info: "Looked into this recently but you need a DEFRA licence to keep hornworms as they are considered a potential pest. If you do want to get a licence to keep them, you should be able to get some from various UK universities as they are used for research. You would still need to import a suitable diet for them or get someone to give you a recipe for one as the one used in reseach labs contains preservatives and antibiotics. Might want to wait a generation or two before feeding them to your chameleon, not sure how long the preservatives or antibiotics would stay in their bodies."

My jacksons wont hand feed or cup feed, so I just request small horns from Mulberry farms. The smaller they are, the less strong they are... they sent me a goliath one, I think it was like 4 inches long and fat..Its still roaming his cage. He tried so hard but itdidnt even budge when he snapped it with his tongue..

Happens to Osang all the time Kev. They have the "G.I. Joe Kung Fu Grip". I place them so only half thier bodies are on a vine and the rest hanging off so she can get them. She has now kinda figured out how to just walk up and eat them without using her tongue, kinda like a beardie!

Dang, and I thought the big silks stuck pretty good too. Usually, chameleo tries to pull so hard, he almost falls off the branch and then gives up. Runs up and grabs it like a little gecko.
