Reddish-orange body blue bar ambilobe shedding...

So the CH Male I got from pardalisgirl a while back decided he wanted to shed during the last couple days. He has since finished but wasn't in the mood to pose today or yesterday. Here are a few shots of him in mid-shed. He was already really agitated because of the shed on his eye and his fiery burning hatred for the camera shows. In these pics however he isn't showing fired up colors. These are kinda between rest and fired up. When he's fully fired he goes completely red/orange with very thin teal lines that almost disappear. Hope you like him.

I really like the range of colors so closely mixed. Amazing Chameleon you should get some of him fired up all the way :)

I am working on a fully fired up pic. Certain times he does and certain times he doesn't. His rest colors are mainly burgundy/orange with a little yellow for the background and teal and navy for the bars. He does show some purples from time to time. The blues and reds mix nicely to form purple in certain spots and sometimes the red covers his teal bars and makes him look to have purple bars. In actuality it's just red and blue overlapping/closely integrated. His neck and the crest are the only spots the actual color purple, not red and blu mixed, have shown on him. He is pretty unique. Once I get some better pictures I let you all see what he looks like fired up. When fired he has many different color combos. Either orange, red, and sometimes even predominately yellow for the background(kinda looks like a fire or sunrise) and his bars can be teal, deep navy, a mix of teal in the middle on the body and green on the top and bottom of the bars. He basically shows every color an ambilobe can and can change from a red body to an orange body to a burgundy body to a yellow body to a lime green body(rarely green though). Like I said I got him from Catherine(pardalisgirl) and she was super helpful and he arrived in perfect condition and has been super healthy since I got him. He would eat all day if I let him. He also tries to mate with anything in site. He has been breed to one female already(waiting on eggs) and is in the process of courting another red body blue bar female. The female he was mated with is sired by renoir at ChamsNorthwest who is capable of showing a complete orange body with light blue bars and the grandsire on the mothers side is seth from amazingbluereptiles, he's an orange/red body blue bar, so the babies will have strong reed/orange body genes. Hopefully they come out looking somewhat like him :) Thanks for looking everyone.

EDIT: Here are some pics of the bloodline for the female he is currently siring a clutch for. First pic is Renoir(photo courtesy of chams northwest, he is their outstanding breeder and the father of 2 of my females). Second and Third pics are of Seth(from bluebeast reptiles, he is gorgeous as you can see. Tyler was lucky to have a cham like that) Hope you guys don't mind me posting photo's of your chams. though I highly doubt it when they look like these 2 do.

Is he still a Bruiser?

He does look really good Justin. His "at rest" colors are terrific. Did you keep the name Bruiser or did you change it? It's very fitting that you picked females from Chams NW and Bluebeast bloodlines. Both breeders are people that I really like as people and enjoy on the forum. I've gotten chams from both too. I managed to get Sandy addicted to Crested Geckos. The Gesang's came over for an open house last year when your boy was a juvie. He is super lucky to have you. I know he gets a lot of attention from you. And females :p

Yes he has kept his name. How could I change a name that fits him so perfectly? His colors remind me of a black eye sometimes. It also fits since he bit me constantly for the first month I had him and drew blood on more than a few occasions. Whenever my hand entered his domain he would chase after it and start lunging with his mouth snapping. Since then he has warmed up but he does have his moody days still. They have been fewer and far between but since I am waiting on some mantids I suspect he will get angry until my girlfriend gets them for him. He is in love with mantis. The mantids he eats are fed on gutloaded duiba, silkies, hornworms, gutloaded crickets and whatever else my chams are feeding on this week. So the mantis are pretty nutritious. I usually give him a really big one once a week and I use them to coax him out to check on him. He will only come out of the cage with me 50% of the time without a mantis and for short periods of time. If I have one running around on my shirt he will chase it forever, well until he gets it and then is very content sitting on my hands while I try to feed others without him eating the food before it gets to them. I the thread called "what are your chams names" He's listed as one of mine that actually do have names. About 75% of them do but the others are still young or afraid of me and haven't gotten fitting names yet.

Video?

Do you have video capability? It would be super cool to get a video of him chasing a mantis on your shirt like you said he did. I've not ever had Mantids or fed them to a cham. It would be really fun watching your boy go after one. I bet I'm not the only one who would enjoy seeing that. Get your girlfriend to shoot a video with your cellphone or some other video device. Very cool :D

awesome coloring I love seeing his bright colors! I can't wait for my little one to start growing and showing color, What a beauty you have there congrats!

I'm going to have her get my video camera out of storage so I can shoot a video for you guys. I'll just have to disguise it under a towel with only the lens showing or something. He does not like anything electronic, I can't even answer my cell phone when he's out and about. I makes him really angry/nervous for some reason. Whenever I used to have to give my older male his meds for his URI a few months ago I'd just bring out the digital camera and he would open his mouth for easy access to give him baytril. They are the only two of my chams that really hate the camera though. The others are just wary of it. hopefully I'll have the camera in a couple days and I just got a few mantis yesterday so it should work out perfectly. Thanks for checking out my cham.
