Mine loves his Benjamin ficus, trying to get him to like hibiscus as well but he seems a bit suspicious. I put a pothos in there, he seems to enjoy it.

If you google search "Safe plants list chameleons" you can find some comprehensive lists of plants which are supposed to be safe. Many cham vendors have such lists but in the interests of remaining neutral I direct you to the wonderful wizard of google.

I really like the Pothos it seems to hold the water for a long time and also does quite well inside. The Ficus and Schefflera also do great indoors. The Hibiscus is a favorite of the veileds but needs allot of light so your need to use hibiscus outside or have a couple to rotate from inside to outside for sun. Your plants will need to be washed and rinsed well and replanted before you use them. Use organic soil and buy large river rocks to cover the soil so your cham will not be able to get to the soil. Make sure the rocks are very large so the cham cannot eat the rocks.

I was wondering what kind of organic soil everyone uses, i use buffaloan and its really expensive, i would like to find something cheaper?

Lowes has a top soil bag w/out fertilizer that's dirt cheap! its their white bag with red writing.

Schefflera has become my favourite. It tolerates being SOAKED for extended periods of time (the drops that come from the leaves under a misting system for example)....and can last well over a week without watering.

It has perfect leaves that hold water for chams to drink from. When watered regularly it grows fast.

It's a good main plant.

Hanging Pothos from the top is a great idea too, gives some vines for the cham to swing on like Tarzan and the big leaves are good for drinking from, and sometimes get munched on.

SOMETIMES munched on!. Lol my male veiled has decided to make it 30% his diet lately. Which is ontop the.romaine i give him to try and get him to leave his poor pothos alone.

Thats not the brand they have at my lowes... I think some of that type of stuff is regional ya know?

Anyways I can't remember the brand off hand but its a .75 cubic foot bag around that price range. Of note the stuff I refer to is a top soil though not a potting soil.

I am using Scotts premium topsoil at the moment: Topsoil

Potting soil supposedly holds moisture better etc... which would be good if you need some humidity help.
