REAL chameleons don't bask . . .

They traipse through your neighbors' backyards claiming new territory and look for a mate . . .

The vet said it was great he was so active . . . But enough is enough!
And don't worry, I only backed up from him to take the picture. I am never more than three feet, hovering over him. He got to one of the trees in the photo, about six feet up. I wrangled him out to go back to the house. At that point he turned around on my hand, looked at me with BOTH eyes and gaped at me all the way back to his free range! I know that was just his sweet way of thanking me for taking him out.

Haha that's great. The furthest my chameleon ever got was basking on a tree branch that was just hanging on the other side of my fence. I thought I lost her for a second too.

Cool picture and such great exercise for him. A caged cham would never get as much exercise as a free roaming one.

Yes, I agree Jann. And that is the ONLY reason that I don't have 7 or 8 or 9 chams. I can't figure out how to manage more than one free range in my house!

Oh, that's easy. You just turn your entire house into the free range.

Oh please Jann, I don't need any encouragement! I would be fine having my entire house a free range - I just can't work out the misting. Hand misting is out because I am gone so much of the day. It's really a drainage and containage problem with a misting system. But . . .hmmmm. . .

We shall see.
