Hello everyone!
I got Apollo's new cage two days ago, and spent most of my time setting it up.
I've got a misting system going on 4 times a day for 3 minutes at a time and the temps (household bulb) are ranging from 29ºC to 34ºC, are those okay for a 5 month old? the average is around 32ºC right now.
He has an arcadia t5 6% UV lamp up top, coupled with a 10k white light just to iluminate his house a bit more.
The cage is a 2x2x4 custom made (two sides covered) from Pacheco Cameleones (a really nice guy from Spain, who was incredible with all the knowledge he shared with me and he's now breeding parson's chams!
).
Here's a picture:
The plant in the middle is a Dracaena that I saw as safe for chameleons.
The bamboo sticks are highly texturized by myself with my trusty Swiss Army Knife, and are slightly less textured than the bendy vines you get to buy at petstores.
I've tried to get diferent diameter branches as to get him to climb different things and have secured them in a way that they wont spin when he shifts his weight.
Today I placed a bamboo stick from his old enclosure to the new one and he moved to the big boy cage right away
He doesn't seem to want to come back, I guess!
I'll be buying a couple of fake plants to put around to hide the white sides.
Do you think he needs more branches? I've ordered a couple from the local flower shop.
If he needs any kind of change, just tell me, I'll get whatever's needed
Cheers!
