Random gecko odds and ends.. best place to buy?

I tend to use a lot of disposable things in my Rhacodactylus cages, simply to save time and most of it is recycled anyways.

Among the things I use are:
Cardboard egg crate
Paper towel and toilet paper tubes
Souffle cups, normally 1/2 oz or smaller size
Sample spoons (to feed the babies, we try to keep these though.. but they somehow go missing very often...)

And various other things that I probably can't think of right now.

Well, I'm just wondering if anyone has found a nice source of these at a decent price! I think I may have found a source for the egg crate but you never know, one of you thrifty shoppers may have found a cheaper source!

Thanks!

Have you posted for this stuff on freecycle as a want?

Whenever we need lots of stuff like this, I post on there and get gobs!

We get our egg cartons at Coastal Farm and Garden for 39 cents each. I do have a cheaper spot on the web but with shipping, the small amount we need for handing out chicken eggs isnt worth it.

If you know anyone who works at A restaurant or who owns one, ask them if they can give you the left over egg crates.

I love freecycle, I moderate our city's FC. Unfortunately we are a very small group and have 500 members, probably 400 of which are from out of town and just join there to pick up the offers.. :(

I would probably end up bulk ordering around 100-500 so I won't have to do it again for a while.. unless that's not really bulk ordering. :p

Thank you!

Unfortunately the town I live in is relatively small.. and not too many people work at restaurants (unless you count fast food, even then I doubt they would have egg crates..) but I will post a status update on facebook.... :)

Man, that sucks!
Portland has a HUMONGOUS freecycle! We receive or get rid of stuff almost weekly on there!

Here is the cheapest I have found on pulp egg cartons:
http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Egg-Cartons-c14.aspx

Found this on eBay for TP rolls:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...e6d642a&itemid=320388406891&ff4=263602_263622
I saw the TP tubes and even the other paper towel tubes they are selling. Wow that's ridiculous for pricing IMHO! 35 for 13, that's 50c each for TP.. and I'm sure they probably get the TP in bulk so they pay for themselves! Argh it frustrates me.

As for the 25c each, that is cheaper than what I found (32c)

I can start saving them for you and mail when I get a box full. It would be like once a month. We use LOTS of paper towels and a decent amount of TP but it would be more paper towel rolls than anything.

I/We use about 16 rolls a month of PT and about 10-12 TP rolls.

That would be great if you could! We save ours as well, but still go through ~20 a month.
