I have a female Veiled cham she is now about 10 months old or so she is going to be laying her first clutch of eggs (infertile).
So, first off, I'm wondering about how long from the time she starts changing to a gravid coloration and begins showing a bulge untill she will actually begin digging and lay her eggs.
She has gradually, day by day, become more of a ''robbins egg'' blue color, and she developed a slight bulge that in about 2.5 weeks became very large. She began showing many blue stripes and spots along with some brown and orange spots. Now, she is very plump and mostly blue with some green stripes and many bright orange spots.
She still eats as many crickets as I will give her. I went from about 12-15 large crickets every other day to about 8-10 large crickets every other day when the bulge became noticably larger.
I have two laying bins in her cage which is now covered with towels for privacy. I'm using a peat moss/playsand laying substrate and I mist it every few days to ensure that it will hold a tunnel if she tries to dig one. Still though, I have never seen any evidence that she has even walked on the sand (prints).
so i guess I'm wondering, whats the laying timeline???
also, any other advice is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank You
