Raising hand

I have noticed in lots of pictures that chameleons raise one of their hands. Does this mean they feel threatened and scared? My guy does this when i'm trying to pick him up. However, he doesn't hiss, bite, or flare up, so I don't know whether or not he feels threatened.

edit: Like in my avatar.

I think they feel a little exposed and want to be on the move or ready to move.......just reaching for the next step........not scared or threatened, necessarily.......maybe 'nervous'

It's a defensive stance, usually with my guys that bite it is a warning lol. I notice my laid back chameleons do out when I move too fast but it's just a bluff.

Looks like they are going to karate chop you lol
