Hey all,

Looking to hear from the Carpet cham experts!
I have come across some baby carpet chameleons for sale, they are R850 each so not at a bad price though I am way too scared to buy them as they are hatchlings and I have personaly seen hatchling carpet chams, and they are TINY!

I have the feeling that the guy is actualy selling them so young because he is worried they end up dieing and he doesnt make any money!

I kinda want to take some but dont know if its the smart thing to do?

I dont know how I should go about raising which is why I also dont want to take them, I cant get a hold of fruitflies...
So would appreciate any advice on how to raise them, what to feed them and what to keep them in aswell... and how often would I need to water them? I have a small screen enclosure that I could raise them outside in.
And how much should I feed them?

Also is there any way that I can try and sex them at the size they will be?

The best carpet expert that I know of is Kevin Stanford (Dooley1). You might check with him. Personally, I would raise them like panther hatchlings in a plastic tub with some branches and a live plant with a reptisun 5.0 over the tub. For panthers as you probably know you need to keep hatchlings at 80F or below so no heat lamp needed usually. I mist mine 4-5 times a day with a fine mist so they can drink off of the leaves. A drip is too much water at once for a baby and they can asperate on too big a drop. JMO -again, check with dooley1. good luck
