Rain Chamber Enclosure

i thought chams hated the color red?

It sorta depends... I haven't had issues, but it could be stressful. I know my melleri Henry doesn't like black.... But, I think a lot of melleri don't. It sorta makes sense (in my head) because melleri do turn black when unhappy... so seeing something that is all black to them is a pissed off 'something'.

What type of screen did you end up using? It looks like like a larger sized opening. Are you planning on cup feeding?

The screen is 1/4" and yes cup feeding would be the only way to go in this enclosure. However, the outdoor enclosure will be used for free range feeding

Here is the finished enclosure.

The chamber looks good Donna. Have you given it a test run yet?

Everyday, LOL, but it's just empty :( . All works the way I want and no leaks. I guess you could really call it a huge drip system. I fill a 10 gal container up about 3/4 full that sits on the table next to it and it has a pump to get the water to the top. The drip is not to extreme where the whole 8 gals gets used in one day. The catch pan on the bottom is very managable too. Inside the drops splash off the leaves and keeps it humid all day with plenty of drinking areas.

That looks good Donna! I have something similar on a smaller scale using a pump from my old reef tank. The water source is only a fish bowl so I have to fill it every other day. I connected it to 1/4" tubing and used drippers from lowes in 2 places on each cage. I set a timer up to go off for 5 minutes 7 times a day. It does not use that much water but it keeps a fairly constant supply for the chams.
