So how many of you are on the forum during class and dont even bother paying attention to class? I am just enthralled with all the chams on here i dont even bother listening to this lady ramble on about humans and learning an blah blah blah. Why dont they have Herp classes in college?! that would be bomb! :D

There are herp classes; you just need the right college or program! - While I spend way more time on the forums than I should, as faculty I think I'm just as glad you're not in my class. On the other hand, it's gotta be less disruptive than the people who sit in the front row and read their newspapers while you're lecturing...

Ha ha ha yeah im the quiet guy that keeps to myself, occasionally something you say will catch my ear, ill listen for a minute or 2, comment or question and then go back to my chameleons! lol

Not while in class, that's important. But I do find myself sneeking peeks at my iPhone while at work. Now that's a waste of time, if it wasn't suporting my cham habit!

I used to be like that, but now that I am in the final stages of getting my degree in biology, i'd just be shooting myself in the foot if I didn't pay attention.

This is why I use pencil and paper to take notes. Wayyyyyy less distracting.

Seeing as how college isn't free nor cheap, I find it much better to use my time more wisely.

The kids who have their phones all vibrating and texting, and tacking away on AIM on the laptops drive me nuts.

:D oops! sorry! does it piss you off even more that i get A's and B's? :p

I've actually been paying attention for the most part... Although, there's really no point in taking notes because my instructors just put everything online anyway, and I always read ahead about half of a chapter... So, when I go to class, I kind of just stare into space because they literally just lecture straight from the text book.

Couldnt hurt to stop surfing and start paying attention in class. If the class isnt stimulating, you've signed up at the wrong Course or wrong College. ;) I cant imagine why you'd waste your money and not be there to learn. If you want to read the forums all day, you can do that cheaper and in more comfort from home?

I wish I could go to a different highschool. I'm stuck reading books all class lol!
(After what, 3 weeks of school, I already have 79 AR points out of 38 that I need. Extra credit here I come *sigh* - figure each Harry Potter book is around 20-30 points)
The only other highschool there is is an online highschool, with no P.E., no sports, not extra curricular, etc.

Tempting to go to a prep school but.. there really aren't any. Plus the skirts/dresses are a no-no for me.

yeah, but im on he forum all the time. I am in college because i have to be. I need to finish my psych degree so i can go take some specialized classes to become a vet. I want to be an animal behaviorist. Need psych and vet combined. I just love reptiles, i want to center my whole life around them, and i have so far! :)

Syn, on the bright side, in highschool, at least you dont have to BUY your books. Google, you better pay attention in your chem and organic chem sequence or you might experience some repeats. lol

Sad but true - I have never gotten better than a C in any class with the word "chemistry" in the title, which for me included two semesters general, two semesters organic, one undergraduate and one graduate biochem. (The only thing I had to repeat, though, was integral calculus.)

No, but I have to buy my sports stuff, pictures, ID, and any "extra" things I'd like.

AJUSD had some budget cuts recently. Football & Cheer didn't get anything taken away but everything else did! (Especially soccer!!)

Even had to PAY for a foodhandlers card to raise money for soccer*grumbles*

Oh well.

Once I get into college, I will be buying books from friends who have already had the classes before me. Yay used books. :p And even if I can't do that, parents put about $4,000 into savings bonds for me for college (books, mostly).

I've paid up to $600+ a semester in books :(

On a side note though, you can now rent text books. One of my friends does it and he says it is really cheap. You order it online, they ship it to you, then you ship it back at the end of the semester.
