quick question about chameleon cage.

I have read not to use metal, aluminum, or fiberglass screen. That leaves plastic. I have bought some screen the name of it is pet defence. It is the only plastic screen i can find. My only worry is, is there going to be enough light that makes it through screen. Has anyone else ever used this stuff? or have any suggestions. Thanks

I have a lot of aluminum screen cages. They are fine.

fiberglass is bad, crickets eat it and it wont work well with heat lamps, everything else should be fine

which mesh is best to use for my viv?

I'm also making a viv for my chameleons and have been looking into what type of mesh is best. I read that stainless steel mesh isn't that good as they can get their nails ripped off with it. Is this not the case?
I am struggling to find any other apart from fibreglass yarn pvc coated.
Would you say the stainless mesh would be suitable?
My two panther babies are only four months old at the moment.

oh i thought you were talking about the mesh before... dont use fiberglass, right now i use stainless mesh on my cages, works great, but its 1/4 inch so crickets can get out way to easy to free roam, but the chams love it cause its easy to climb

The stainless steel mesh that i've been looking at is for the top of my viv, for ventalation really. Its very fine, so don't think any bugs would get out.
Would you think this would be ok?
