quick lighting question

I have a quick question about my heat lamp that I have on my terrarium. It is 48" tall by 25" wide by 25" deep. I have live plants in there and mist 5 times daily for 3 minute intervals. I have been reading alot of questions about others lighting and makes me wonder if I am not doing something wrong. I have a 42" tube uvb bulb, brand new, and a 150 watt repitsun bulb. I am thinking it might be too much lighting. I have a 6-7 month old veiled male... Room temp is around 72-73 and most of the cage is around 78 and basking area can near 87-88.

Any ideas from the audience. Thank you very much for all your help in advance..

hopefully Carol will take a look at this thread, cause im a panther person. But I would say your basking is too hot. you might want to lower your wattage to a 60w or so depending on where your climate.
but before you go change things around, let a veiled person post!
Corey, what are your night temps? are they dropping below 70? hopefully, yes!

How are you measuring your temps? Digital probe?
It just seems like a 150 watt bulb would produce a lot of heat. Especially in a terrarium.
For a Veiled that young I would say 85 is a good basking temp, and an ambient temp in the lower 70's is good. No light at night and temps in the 60's.

The UVB fixture sounds good to me. Check out Jannb's blog if you're a new keeper.
