question

I would definitely try to do the nails in another room. Nail polish and remover are both very smelly and that makes me think it has the potential to be toxic. I always say that chameleons are the animals canaries bring into the coal mines to warn them when things get bad.

If "another room" isn't possible, then get the ventilation as good as it can be, maybe sit next to an open door with a fan blowing OUT pointed at you.

i covered his cage wth towels so the fumes wouldnt reach him. hes my first cham i just got him today. still trying to fgure out a name for him. i thinking either orion or osiris

I wouldn't trust covering the cage to prevent fumes from getting to him, though that's a great thing to do. I'd still make sure the ventilation was perfect when doing any nail related thing. Same for hair, by the way...if you have to do it in the room with the chameleon, make sure you point the air AWAY from the chameleon.

really?

Why are you applying toxic fumes in the same room as one of the the most sensitive animals on the planet? use the bathroom, garage, closet, not where you keep you cham. come one, that one doesnt take a genius to figure out..

polish

I do not mean to nag, everyone must start somewhere, but if you only have room to keep your cham and do your nails in the same room, i think some pre planning may have been in order. regardless, good luck. what kind of cham is he/she?
