Ok I got my enclosure set up the only thing I'm having a problem with is my basking temp. The enclosure is 24"-24"-48" tall I've gone from a 60 watt to a 70 watt now I'm at a 100 watt bulb I've let each bulbs warm up for 2 hours before reading a basking temp. With the 100 watt it will get around 81.5 to 84.3. I'm reading the temp about 6 inches from the bulb. Do you all think that will be warm enough for a basking spot?

For what species? Sounds okay for the more common species, especially the babies and females. Are you sure the terminated is correct though? What are your ambient temps? A 100 watt bulb will give me a 95 degree basking spot 6-7 inches away from the bulb when the ambient is 65... Be careful with how close it it, my veiled likes to almost burn himself if I have the bulb too close.
well we are planing for a male panther. heres a funny thing. after i post this i went to sleep. i woke up around 2am and our heater in the house was out. everything is fixed heater wise. now the temp is reading around 95 6-7 inches away from the bulb. how close would you say is to close. im a newb to chameleons. everything thing else i own are leopard geckos and a bearded dragon. so to me this is a new world. i want to get this just right.
