Hello

I have about a 2 month old veiled chameleon she is in my profile picture. I was wondering what would cause her to all of a sudden to go from the bright green to then going to bright green with dark green pokadots? I know they change colors but i dont know why it happened never has happened before.

any ideas??

If she's eating well, basking and drinking and she doesn't have any symptoms of being sick. It's probably a little stress. Chams colors are like mood rings and as you get to know your cham you will recognize the color changes. But,
It probably wouldn't hurt to fill out the ask for help form just in case there is something that needs to be changed in your husbandry.

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

I don't have a veiled but with regards to shedding my Jackson's shed about once a month or so until he reached 6 months then it started to slow down.
Normal poops should have a solid brown part and a white urate. Kinda like a bird dropping

my veiled will do that when she is startled or upset, mine is about a year old so her shedding might not be the same for your little one but when she does she sheds about once a month or every other month, and normal poop is dark brown solid (feeder should be digested) and then white urate.

thanks!

When can you start feeding the mill worms? is there an age?? and what do you put the worms in a lil dish or just let them go free in the cage??

I have caught a few moths and she has ate them right up...

there any way to make a home made drip system or drip cup??

I would just buy the "little dripper" at the pet store. They only cost about 10 bucks and work great! If you are going to feed meal worms, make sure you don't feed too many of them. They have alot of hard outer body called Chitin which can lead to digestive problems if they eat too many of them.

Real plants are the best. They help keep up the humidity in the cage. You cham might eat it though, but as long as it is a ficus you say you are going to use, it is non toxic so it is ok.

are moths i catch outside ok??

what about like beetles and cockroaches and other things??

so for the worms should i put them in a dish??

Hi:)

i suggest no get wild bugs, if there is a chance they were in an area with pesticides, can make your cham sick.....but if you know there3 are no pesticides near your home, then mantids, katydids, and grasshoppers a good.....but for now, try buying feeder bugs, like crix, flies, silkworms, hornworms, dubia roaches, ---mealworms is not suggested (too much shell and not enough meat inside).....but you can put the worms in a dish or feeder cup....or handfeed, or put a worm at atime near your cham....like on a branch....hope this helps:)

yes, pothos, shefflera and hibiscus are all good. Hibiscus are hard to keep inside though but Veilds love eating the flowers. They are all safe plants to keep in your enclousre.

Hibiscus, Pothos and Schefflera would this be ok plants to put in with a baby veiled ??

the ones you mention are great for veileds:)

hibiscus is awsome cuz they bloom flowers and veileds luv them:D...but hibiscus are hard to keep alive inside- i had to switch two hibiscus plants every week or so, :p---but there is a better way, by buying a plant light at lowes or home depot called 6500 K light, i think...not sure....but the other plants are awsome too, they dont die easily:cool:

Will any kind of schefflera plant work??

I was looking at an umbrella plant it is a schefflera arboricola
