Question - New to Panther Chameleons

Hi Everyone,

My daughter and I are new to Panther Chameleons. We picked up a 1 female and 1 male Chameleon around a year ago. Both were around 3 months old at the time. We have not allowed the Chameleons to breed and keep them in separate cages. Today our female Chameleon, named Peaches, was hanging around the bottom her cage. She tore up the bedding at the bottom of the cage and was very black in color. I feared the worse and thought she was dying. I removed her from her cage and cradled her in my hands to warm her body.
She then grasped my pointer finger and my thumb holding her tail out with a slight bend upwards. She then started laying eggs into the palm of my hand. I now have 29 unfertilized eggs all of which were laid in the palm of my hand.

My questions - How often do female Panther Chameleons lay eggs and when should I introduce the male chameleon? I've read several post on the required bedding, temperatures and incubation periods which obviously doesn't apply this time around however I welcome any additional suggestions. What should I do to assist her with the recovery? She seems very weak now.

I have pictures of her laying eggs into my palm if anyone would like to see them.

Thank you.

She will probably be fine soon. Good luck with chameleon breeding!
