I was wondering if your chams have eaten those little lizards that we have in abundance all over down here? Are they harmful? I am not planning on feeding any to mine or anything but I have my cham free range in my patio and the little buggers always seem to find a way in. There was one on the screen today and my cham saw it and went right for it. Luckily the little guy got away and I was able to catch it and let it go. just wondering if any of you ever had your cham eat one and what would be the outcome.

Well as with any WC Bug they may have parasites..you would have to make sure you do routine fecals and treat him for it if he does have anything, but you should do that anyways since Store Bought Bugs can have them to..

ok thanks, I was just wondering if they could die if they ate one or something. Even maybe choke on them too I would imagine?! i would never deliberately feed one to my cham. They are everywhere down here!

My buddy feeds them to his bearded dragon all the time. Neither of my chams are big enough to eat one of those lizards, but when they are I might let them try it. As mentioned before, just be sure to check for parasites and keep up with vet visits.

Those lizards are probably anoles.
Their fine for chams to eat, but you always want parasite tests periodically.

Is it this??

this is the bahaman anole
they are everywhere in florida

From time to time, I feed my veileds brown anoles. Only babies and juvies though. There is much less of a chance that the small ones have parasites and other funky stuff. They are a great source of natural calcium and vitamin a. I also just started feeding them to my snapping turtle. Its hard to watch him eat them.

Brown Anoles are a dime a dozen, I dont think any one breeds them unless its for feeders. So you wouldnt really need to mark them.

ok, so if he accidently eats one it is probably not gonna kill him! As far as me intentionally feeding them to him, i just dont have the heart to do it. They are cute little fellows!

Make sure you dont make it something you do alot if you do decided to do that
Because it will lead to gout,
high protein diets most always lead to gout
