Question about UVB lighting

I'm ordering UVB light bulbs for my Veiled Free Range on our screened back porch. This is a big encloser 8'x6'x4'. I bought two 4 ft. fixtures that hold 2 bulbs each and I'm getting ready to order my Repti Sun 48" UVB blubs from LLLReptiles. Since it's such a large enclosure would it be better to get the 10.0 instead of the 5.0? Thanks! Jann

Jann, don't your chameleons get natural light first thing in the morning?
Your porch gets the morning sun since it faces the east.
It only takes a few hours of unfiltered, natural light, each day to meet your chameleons D3 production needs.

So you don't think I need the UVB lights at all? Right now it's sooo hot he's only out there about an hour in the mornings and maybe an hour in the evenings. I do have UVB lighting on his inside cage but he doen't stay in that all the time either.......he getting spoiled to being out of his cage and on his tree in the house with no UVB lights.

with access to sunlight most of the days, UVB light isn't really necessary.
But, if i were you, i'll keep it handy. Just in case, you need to put him inside for whatever reasons.
