Question about imported Mellers/any keepers in Canada?

A few months ago I brought a young Meller's who was imported from Tanzania and advertised as farm bred and captive bred, I've also very recently adopted a adult or sub adult Mellers from a woman who bought him from the same seller. I have no knowledge on his background. I can assume WC.

I just have a couple questions, they may sound a bit naive, but bare with me.

I've seen people talking about showering their Mellers, my big guy is shedding now and isn't too happy with having skin flaking around his eyes so I want to help him out. When you "shower" your chams, do you mean a heavy misting or literally in a shower?

I want to book a vet appointment, should I wait until until they are settled with me, or just do it as quickly as possible?

I have a couple questions about their possible ages and appropriate amount of food to be feeding each, but I haven't weighed them in yet, my scale can be a bit sketchy. However, i'll do that this week.

I'm in Canada, and while looking around it doesn't seem Mellers are too common here, i'm just curious if there other keepers here and how they came to get their chams

YOu can put him in the shower (warm) and leave him in there for awhile. Don't let the water hit him directly.
As for the vet unless it's an exotic vet who specializes in reptiles it's likely a waste.
You can look at him and judge if there's anything outwardly wrong.
You may want to take a stool sample in and see what he's packed with just be careful letting the vet give him meds..

Hey, and welcome to the forums! I'm sure you will find alot of helpful information.

-I would definitely suggest you take them into the vet for a health check up and stool sample to make sure there are no parasites as WC generally come in with some.

-To best help you on how many crickets they should be getting you should let him walk on a ruler so we can see his size.

-Also, I just started showering my Veiled Chameleon and what I do is put a large potted ficus(any plant will work) and I put the shower head on the wall where it hits the wall and mists back down to the plant. He loves it! You should also make sure the water is warm, but not hot.
