Question about developing coloration in male getting duller

My male panther chameleon, Karma, was sold to me as a Nosy Be. As his colors developed in the first year, he appeared to be a nicely colored Ambilobe. Which was fine (he is my profile picture). He is about a year and three months now, and recently his colors are considerably muted. My question: is this change in color normal for a Nosy Be or Nosy Be cross Ambilobe? Or is the change more likely to be health or environment related? He still eats and drinks, and is shedding now. The three attached photos were taken one after the other, no editing or filters. His position under the lights just changed.

@Decadancin - your boy has gone through similar "pale" phases, hasn't he?

Definitely not unheard of amongst Panthers. I've seen pretty dramatic progression pictures amongst Ambilobes in particular, where they complete change body and bar colors, or appear "washed out"! Could be a case of a winter blahs. Seems to happen with some males!

One of my panthers went from almost 100% teal, to emerald green, to almost 100% red in 6 months. And he’s 3! I wouldn’t worry unless his behavior changes. He’s beautiful.

Thanks for the reply! His colors have progressed mostly brighter and deeper, since I got him at about 3 months. The only time he was very pale previously (and more pale yellowish), was when he was ill with an impaction. I had it treated, and he appears to have made a complete recovery. If you saw another thread on colors, it may have been my hatchlings. Four eggs I bought back in September 2018 hatched in August. These are two of those four babies. I was concerned that they were kind of dark. They are showing colors now. They are unrelated to Karma.

I understand, now! I thought your question to @Decadancin about color progression was directed at me! Lol. I hope that’s all it is. I’m pretty attached to him.

Yes, Raistlin was very "white" for a couple days, and my first thought was he was getting too warm. His basking site was normal so I didn't worry too much. A few days later he was back to normal colors.
