Question about chameleons

Today I woke up to find that my veiled chameleon couldn't open one of his eye, this is the first time I have see or heard of it. I went on the internet to see what I could do to fix it. After an hour he just open his eye, my question is will it come back? Thanks

First you could try some very long warm mistings. Hopefully he just needs to wash it out really well. If he continues to do it then he might have a bigger problem.

Are you sure he 'couldnt' open the eye, not that he 'wouldnt'?
I askm because sometimes in the early morning, my guys will sit with one eye closed for a few minutes, then as they wake up they open both and begin their ritual of exploring their homes and bug hunting, possibly some rubbing and some eye bulging to clean out their eyes.

Did the eye look different than normal? any crusting, oozing, etc?
did he recently shed?
did he bulge the eye out at all?

did he recently shed? no he has not shed for a month
did he bulge the eye out at all? no not at all

Is the crusting gone. someitmes like us, it happens when we wake up.
Try giving him a warm shower and see if that helps.
Also, you can try a drop of regular saline, and see if that keeps it from happeneing again.
