Ok, I am reading up on which to get...but am not able to find in searches what brands of either digital or analog instruments folks are using...

Thanks for your feedback

I use those as well. I bought 4 of them at one time once and they all read the exact same temperature, where as other brands will all be several degrees different when you have 2-3 in the same spot. Especially having females, I can't have thermometers that are giving a wrong reading by 2-5 degrees.

Oh dear, I bought that one too and it crapped out on me two days later...maybe it was just a fluke...

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh no, really? Maybe it was getting too wet?
I've had several and I really like them. It's the only brand I buy anymore.

Digital does not mean accurate, though some people seem to think that. However digital does mean more $$$.

An analog is more reliable and less issues, no battery failure and no issue if it gets saturated like a digital sensor.

You can buy a 10.00 combo for a turtle tank and calibrate it and it be more than accurate for anything shy of scientific use.

I have these in pairs in each enclosure and my dubia colony.

Same. Never had problems with mine and I have friends who use them as well.

This one plugs in too so you don't have to worry about battery life. Of course I keep non-digital thermometers/jygrometers as well in case of power outages so I can still monitor my reptile.
