Could i please ask what you use on the bottom of your pygmy tanks, i have loads of plants. I was going to go buy some organic compost, will this be ok to use? Thanks
I dont see why not.. they live in dirt. I use organic worm compost in my plants and a mixture of that and bed a beast (for humidity) for soil with crumbled leaves overtop. No probs yet and ive had em for about 6 months..
I use bed-a-beast as my top layer, Hyrdoton, and charcoal for drainage layers.
I have heard that with soil if you over water it can make mud in the tank, this is why i chose bed-a beast, and because it seems to hold moisture better.
Yea but I use organic worm compost with just turns hard but you cant really overwater as its naturally mushy..Its nothing like store bought soil...Mine tank is doing awesome! Got eggs in there somewhere!
