Pygmy Sexes.

Okay, rushing right now. I just got my first pygmy chameleon. I'm not sure on how to tell sex. It came from Nick Mole at First Choice Reptiles.

I will post a picture soon.

I must add it has lateral stripes on it.

It's hard to tell from the picture but see if this helps.

Males

• Typically are smaller and will have a slimmer body type
• The dorsal crest is more rigid / defined then with a female
• Males have longer tails
• Males will usually have some sort of pattern which is much more apparent especially in the eye turrets/flanks when displaying for a female


Females

• Typically have a larger more rounded body type
• The dorsal crest is rounded less defined
• Females have shorter tails
• Females have more subdued coloration (light browns) with no patterns (or very little) unless stressed

It's grip is quite good. I just took him/her out for a picture quick and put them back.

YES! *Happy Dance* I was hoping for a boy! I got him as a Secret Santa gift from a group on Facebook. Gabbie from the forums knows what I'm talking about!

I'm thinking of changing the name from Eugine to something else. I like similar names to Darwin and Eugine, nothing over done. Any help?

You have to remember that their also captive hatched and while I do think that 50.00 may be a little excessive, it will be nice to have a chameleon that you know the exact age of.

That's what I was thinking. He's so tiny and the age is what I'm so surprise about! Only 3-4 weeks old!
