So we got a new camera and I decided to take a few photos so you can all see how the little guys are doing. one of my females keeps going into some weird display of stripes and puffing herself up!

Dont know how I managed to get all 5 in the same pic! check out my colourful female on the far right.

The dominant male - Kev. I love his colouring, he is like this all of the time and his little legs and feet go orange.

this is the one I caught mating with Kev, this is Sheila, although you cant really see on this pic, she is quite tubby.

Monica, I love this pic, if you look to the left you will see the waxworm she is trying to get

Great pics! If little Karl is in there with the other male, he is likely to be the submissive one and may starve.

thanks for the concern Julirs, but iv seen the little fella eating one of the big waxworms and chasing crickets so i think he is ok at the min. both him and the other male were sat on the same branch the other day for about an hour and were fine. i think at some point im going to set up another tank anyway so the 2 boys will be separated, plus it will be easier to monitor blood lines if they breed.:D

Nice group and a nice home they have! I, too, might suggest separating Karl when you get the chance - I had two males together for a while (one was mistakenly sold me as a female) and, while there was no overt aggression, the submissive one was stressed by it and was rather happier when rehoused. They don't always tell you right away or obviously that they're unhappy.

Ok so after these pics with them eating waxworms i went out and bought some:0 the problem is this is the first time my pair of pygmys have ever seen a waxworm and are looking at it like"Looks good but should i try it?". How did you get your to eat them? Nice pygmys by the way.

To be honest, I only feed them every other day and they were dues a feed yesterday but the delivery was late and didn't turn up till today! I got 4 out of the 5 to eat them, the other just went for crickets!

Mine will sometimes take smaller waxworms, and sometimes not. Probably depends on the phase of the moon or something.

well i encountered something strange today! as you know i have been feeding waxworms to the pygmy, but found a couple of mutilated worms in the tank! I couldnt for the life figure out what was going on with them until i found my smallest male re-gurgitating one back up. I had noticed he didnt look right so took him out the tank to see if he was ok. he was a very pale colour with very dark eyes. I put him back in the tank and he started gaping and pop! worm came right back out. dont know when he ate it as there hasnt been any food in the tank since saturday. maybe waxworms dont agree with the pygmy!

Maybe the worms are too big for his little stomach?

Agreed, you will love the pygies... let us know when they arrive :D
