Pygmy diets.

Okay, so as many of you know that I have acquired a little 3-4 week old Pygmy Chameleon.. But all I have been feeding are fruit flies, until this week when I can order a ton of feeders for the winter.

So what all can pygmies eat?

I tried dubia nymphs but they seem too big.
He doesn't mind the FF's but they have to get boring.
pinheads are on the list of "to get's".
But what else I guess I am asking of what an he eat?

Thanks,
Zac

I think silkworms hatch out tiny enough that he could eat them. But I've never seen that so I don't know for sure. When I had mantids hatch out they were small enough for my hatchling pygs. I know I've gotten butterworms that are small enough for my adult pygs to eat, but not for baby pygs. Yours is big enough for crickets, which will be more nutritious for him. They'll have to be small - either pinheads or 1 week old crickets, maybe 2 week if they grow slowly. At that age I would do some crickets, and some fruitflies and they zapped them all up. They started preferring the crickets over flies at about a month and a half if I remember right...

Alrighty! Thanks. I just realized one colony died off and another one was on it's last leg, so I threw another culture together. just hoping the produce quickly. I haven't seen any missing dubia yet, but it's worth a shot.

I would get some smaller roach species (lobsters, rusty reds/lateralis, bananas, Surinames, pallid, etc.) PM me if you want to know more about them/want some. I can send a few specially priced for you ;)

Small worms like dark or lesser mealworms would be good idea. Some termites would work too. Woodlice and spring tails are good choices too.

Actually, just PM me anyways!
