Pygmies

I am interested in getting some pygmy chameleons, not anytime soon though. I'm just wondering what kind of enclosure they need, and what breed is best.
I understand that most of their care is kind of like regular chameleons. They live in colonies, so do the females always lay fertile eggs? Do you have to have females and males together?
Thanks!

IMO- Bearded Pygmy's are the best kind of pygmy to get for a starter. The enclosure for a male and female could be a 10 gallon aquarium.

My female laid infertile eggs because not once when i was cleaning the cage did i find eggs. I found all my fertile eggs because i saw them mate and knew how long the time period is to lay..i also saw her lay them.

1 male and 1 female or 1 male and 2 females can work. Whenever i have my male in one cage and the female in the other..the male gets depressed so now i know to never separate them.

Do they have to mate? I'm not ready for incubation and "child care." Could they be alone or do they need mates?
What is the average lifespan? If I decided to have a pair or trio, I assume I could just sell the fertile eggs to a reputable breeder?

Do a quick search, there is a lot of info on her about pygmies :D

Incubation is not a problem, you can leave the eggs in the enclosure to hatch naturally :D Just make sure you are able to get your hands on smaller food items incase you do have babies.
They are one of the few chams that tolerate company, so grouping them is often the choice made by keepers. You can keep a group of girls together if you like, or a single male with some females.
You'll have to ask your local rep shop if they will buy eggs from you. Mine will take the eggs and pay you for what hatches. Or they buy the young that you hatch. I guess all shops are different.

I believe they can live 2 -3 years, possibly 4 with good care :D
