Hi All,
I am sure I am worrying like a new parent, but like us all, I am always looking to make sure my lil guys are good.
In regards to my nearly 8 month old male panther, he has not eaten in three days. Leading up to this, he has slowly began to lessen the amount he eats as compared to when he was a bit younger and was a pig.
I offered crickets and dubias as well as a butter worm yesterday and nothing. The last thing he ate was 1 superworm on Sunday evening. I feed him 1 a week as he loves them. That being said, perhaps he is spoiled and holding out for more superworms?
Some details on husbandry:
Ambient room temp is 65-73, night to day. Basking spot is up to 89 and he has plenty of room to regulate in the 2x4 screened cage. Misters set for 3x 4min a day and cage dries out fine between sessions. Ambient humidity is 60-70% in the room.
The last time he pooped, yesterday, all looked fine.
He has been fed a varied diet, gutloaded well, and dusted correctly.
He is very active, color looks great, and I have noticed nothing that would represent any kind of illness.
A couple of thoughts.
1. The cold weather recently has but him into a different eating mode. It has been cool here the past few weeks, although the room temp has not gotten below 62.
2. He is reaching the age where his eating habits decline? This is my oldest panther, so again, never been through this phase.
Perhaps the two together?
Anyhow, any thoughts would be appreciated.
Bobby
